Monday 6/21 at 9 pm, the public web site itself will be taken offline in order to migrate to the new web site and public web server.

Here are some of the improvements:

  • We'll add navigation aids in the footer at the bottom of the page.
  • The button for downloadable e-books, audio books and music will be called Downloadables instead of eMedia2Go.
  • The button for eLearning2Go will become eLearning. You'll click on eLearning for help with computer training, homework, job seeking skills, test preparation, and language learning software.
  • Both buttons will be located in the upper right hand portion of our home page.
  • A rotating video thumbnail of our library story and *it* videos will display on the left side of our homepage. Click for a list of our videos.
  • Our Event Calendar link will be part of the Events tab at the top of the page.
  • Links to Kids, Teens, DCHRC and BizInfo, currently on the left side of the page, will move to the top right side of our home page.
  • iGuides navigation will be uncluttered and in a tabbed format that will be easier to use.
  • We’ll add enhanced displays of our Flickr photos and feed our tweets to a block on the home page.
